A very familiar thought for me as well. Each experience is a lesson, though, and with each awkward moment we learn to adjust a little, so that next time we are better equipped to strike the balance of politeness and non-necessity. Great article!
I have also had this « weird» thing with trying to be nice and polite. You describe it very well Susan. But I stopped doing this several years ago. It was not natural for me, I just played a role kinda, it did’nt come from my heart for sure . So I told myself, stop acting false, be you, honest and sincere❣️
Well, that was a weird story indeed Sue - and a great reminder to stick to what feels authentic and to keep away from jumping through hoops we don't need to! :)
Enjoyed reading the article. Thank you for sharing your experience and insight. I love the way you express it.
Thank you so much. 🙏☺️
I m now much better about protecting my own space and not giving what I don't really want to give. It was a journey of trusting and valuing myself.
That’s wonderful, Maria! I sense that you’ve done a lot of inner work and know yourself very well. Thank you for sharing here. 💕
Thank you Susan! ♥️🙏

I offered to help someone who clearly did not need my help.
True enough,
They did not acknowledge my kind interference.😀
I learnt my lesson not to be stupid ..
It's okay Susan..
We all learn.
Thanks for sharing that with me, Capry. You’re so right, we do all learn. 🙏💕

Yes! How wonderful that you realized it’s a role and deliberately stopped choosing to play it. ✨ You’re right, it’s not natural.
Thanks so much for sharing, I enjoyed your comment.💕Wishing you a fabulous day, lovely Tony. ☀️
Thank you Susan Elisabeth , likewise. Merry Christmas 🎅🏻💙🎄

I agree, Leanne, it is! It felt weird at the time, but at least now (20 something years later!) I can laugh about it. 💕☺️
I’ve definitely overextended just to avoid the feeling of “what if I was unfair” 💀
Right? That ‘what if’ sometimes gets us to do ‘unnatural’ things.😅
Thanks for sharing, Jodie.💕
